Prominent-ear correction
Ear position and cartilage shape may be adjusted according to individual anatomy. Scars and risks are discussed.

The shape, size, and position of the ears, along with any damage, are assessed at Tiia Pihlamaa's consultation in relation to the surrounding tissue, and from the standpoint of symmetry.
Overview
Surgery around the ears can address concerns involving the shape, size, position, or damage of the ears. Planning considers cartilage and supporting structures, skin, previous scars, symmetry, and realistic goals.
Procedures and assessment
Ear position and cartilage shape may be adjusted according to individual anatomy. Scars and risks are discussed.
A split, stretched, or asymmetric earlobe may be repaired with a surgical procedure.
An ear that is partially or completely missing, or that has an abnormal shape, can be reconstructed using your own rib cartilage and local skin flaps. This is a larger project and is usually carried out in two stages.
Consultation covers your wishes and the available methods, wound care, recovery, and scar maturation. It is important to understand that perfect symmetry of the ears is difficult to achieve. The result is always individual and true to you.
